Our service capacity tracker is a tool that provides information about the expected space available on your services, specific to your travel days and times.
By searching the service you want to travel, you'll be able to see a forecast of how much space is likely to be available around that time or on other days.
The service capacity tracker is a forecast only and is not real-time information; services may be busier or quieter than expected.
Times are displayed at grouped 15 minute intervals, if your service comes more frequently, services inside that time period will be grouped together. Please use our journey planner for scheduled timetable information.
A more accessible display of this data is available on the Open Data Portal. If you have accessibility needs please call us on 13 12 30 for assistance.
How to use the service capacity tracker
Use the drop-down boxes to select your:
- Mode of travel (bus, train, ferry or tram)
- Bus route, train line, ferry or tram service
- Direction of travel
- Your departure stop or station (or use the map to click on your stop or station)
A prediction will be displayed in coloured boxes to indicate how much space is available on that service from that stop or station at that particular time of day.
- Green - space is likely to be available
- Yellow - some space may be available
- Orange - there is limited space available, but not necessarily full
- White - no service at this time
You can hover over or click on a specific day and time for more information, including if there are typically a lot of students traveling on those services at that time.
If you click on a day and time, the map will update to show you how much space is expected to be available at each of the stops at that time.
This dashboard is based on recent data for the South East Queensland Translink network only, and exclude services departing between 11pm and 5am. Services are aggregated to 15 minute intervals, and passenger loadings are averaged within these intervals. Stops with a star (*) are serviced occasionally.
